Latest visitor guidance for England

Dear Visitor,

At Acacia Care, the safety and wellbeing of our residents has always been our biggest priority. We have constantly evolved and adapted to all of the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and will continue to do so in future.

Changes to visiting guidance was sent out to all Care Homes in England to coincide with the lifting of key restrictions on the 19th July 2021.

The new guidance in relation to Care Home visiting can be read by following this link;

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/visiting-care-homes-during-coronavirus/update-on-policies-for-visiting-arrangements-in-care-homes

To sum up the guidance for you, it basically means that in our home;

  • Masks will still need to be worn
  • LFD Testing will still need to take place
  • Visits will still need to be structured and booked in advance
  • Only two visitors for each residents may attend at a time
  • Should there be an outbreak status at a Home, we would need to temporarily suspend visits and would also need to suspend visits if instructed to do so by Public Health England.

As you will be aware, we have always tried to allow visits at our home when able to do so and we have continually ensured that the safety and wellbeing of residents and staff is our number one priority. Whilst we totally understand the hope that everyone has in wanting things to get back to normal, we continue need to balance risks and be cautious about the next steps we take in our home, particularly in relation to visiting given increasing infection rates in the community. At the same time, we need to follow key guidance issued by government bodies.

We continue to work closely with the Department of Health and Public Health and continue to monitor local and national infection rates. As government guidance changes, we will ensure that our own internal guidance is reviewed accordingly.

As soon as there are any further changes to visiting policies, we will let you know promptly.

Please contact the Home Manager at 0115 960 5981 if you have any questions or need any further information.

Your Sincerely,

Jay Patel

Managing Director
